If the system proves successful we may extend the use of this system by adding functionality to allow appointment booking and ordering repeat medication.

10.8.07 New on-line services

We  are happy to announce improvements  our on-line prescription service. We also will be offering online appointment booking and test result viewing soon via  a secure network.

With around 40% of UK households now having access to the Internet,  patients are becoming more aware of how to manage their own lifestyle using online services such as Internet banking, government services, and shopping sites. Therefore, it makes sense for your patients to be able to access their GP services online too!

Repeat prescription ordering...

Using this  software, patients can securely access their  current repeat prescription information and select items that are due for issue. This will automatically connect to the practice computer system and a prescription is generated for issue by the next working day.

We will initially be contacting patients who use our current service to update their current patient login details

to use the new system; If this proves  successful we will be rolling the access out  and offering the new service to  all patients who have repeat medication.

Following this exercise we may extend the services offered online .....

Online appointment booking...

Patients can also book appointments via the internet using BlueBayOS. The practice sets up and allocates specific time slots within the system for internet bookings. When the patient logs in via the Internet, they can choose from any of these appointment slots and book themselves in.

View pathology test results...*

Around a quarter of telephone calls to the practice consist of enquiries from patients about test results. Using BlueBayOS, patients can log on and check if their test results have come back and can also see any comments that the clinician has recorded for the result, e.g. ‘Make Appointment’.*

Basic Health Information…

In this day and age, patients are far more conscious of lifestyle and health factors that affect their daily lives. BlueBayOS’ can display basic health information relating to the patient, such as latest blood pressure reading, smoking status, bmi, and vaccination and immunisation details.*
