Patient participation groups acknowledged in new GP contract.
The role of the patient group has been given official government approval under new plans for GPs that come into force from April 2004. Cwmbran Village Surgery has an active patient participation group who meet monthly at the surgery.
The new GP contract plans to involve patients with assisting in developing practices, and to have more say in issues that affect them when visiting their GP.
Cwmbran Village Surgery undertake annual patient satisfaction surveys, and feedback the outcomes to our patient participation group. The process is an productive one, and furthers the patient - practice relationship.
Have your say.
The patient group meets on the last wednesday of each month at 2pm at the surgery (excluding Christmas, and summer break). New members are made most welcome. The group would like to invite participants to represent the patients of the surgery, in an informal environment. Apart from discussion on current patient related issues, the group has successfully fund raised in the past, and quite often invite guest speakers from local organisations.
Please contact the group via mail forum@cwmbranvillagesurgery.co.uk , and wewill be more than willing to give more details of the group meetings.
